Park City Children's Fair
The 15th Annual Park City Children’s Fair kicks off summer fun!  Hosted by
the Soaring Wings Montessori School, the fair will be held in City Park on
Sunday, June 1st from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Rain or shine. Activities for the whole
family include games, art, pony rides, live music prizes and food. All proceeds
from the fair benefit local and global charities that support children and the
environment.

Pleasant Grove Orchestra Pops Concert
The Pleasant Grove Orchestra presents its final concert of the 2007-2008
season at 7:30 pm on the east lawn of the Pleasant Grove Recreation
Center (200 South 100 East). This will be a pops concert featuring music
of the American west, and the orchestra will be under the direction of
Kayson Brown. Sponsors for this concert include Pleasant Grove City, the
Pleasant Grove Arts Commission, and corporate and private donors. This
project is also supported by the Utah Arts Council, with funding from the
State of Utah and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes
that a great nation deserves great art. Admission is free, and audience
members should bring blankets and chairs to sit on. This concert is part of the
Pleasant Grove Concerts in the Park series, which will continue on Sunday
evenings at 7:30 pm at the same location throughout the summer.

Pony Express Days
Eagle Mountain celebrates its eleventh anniversary with a week of
entertainment featuring a carnival, parade, all-terrain buggy tours, helicopter
rides, an outdoor movie screening of Horton Hears a Who, a Dutch oven
cook-off, a "Triple Threat" concert featuring BlackHawk, Little Texas, and
Restless Heart, a public safety fair (with a rock climbing wall and a petting
zoo), a golf tournament, and fireworks. Takes place Friday May 30-June 7 at

Annual Heritage Week
Heritage Week is the week-long celebration of the Western Mining &
Railroad Museum. Helper has a unique and colorful history of railroads, coal
mining, bordellos, riots and outlaws! Events ranging from haunted tours, guest
lectures, shootout re-enactments, Utah model railroad clubs show, Butch
Cassidy look-a-like contest, bordello ball, bordello bed races and many
other events! Heritage Week has gained national coverage and notoriety to
the point that True West Magazine named Helper, Utah, as a True
Western Town for two years. In 2006, we were #10. In 2007, we jumped to

Wild Outdoors Festival
The two-day event will feature top-ranked lumberjacks, the world's best
speed climbers, and female boom runners competing for a series of ESPN2
will broadcast four 30-minute programs of this event later in the year.  The
festival will showcase all things outdoors. Vendors will provide
demonstrations and education, live entertainment will go on throughout the
festival, and various activities will be available to guests of all ages.   Festival

This event is geared toward rock, fossil, mineral collectors and enthusiasts.

Deseret Peak Stampede Days
Watch professional cowboys and cowgirls compete at the Deseret Peak
PRCA Rodeo. This event is highlighted with Fireworks, craft show, lots of
entertainment. There will be pony rides, inflatable gyms, and a kiddie korral

Primitive Pottery Workshop
These 3-day workshops are designed to give an introduction to the art of
pottery making, especially as was practiced by prehistoric Indian cultures.
The workshops provide instruction on preparing clay, constructing and
decorating pots and offer the possibility of firing the finished products.
Using prehistoric techniques, the participants process local clay and temper,
use pukis to construct different types of pots, prepare a self-made yucca
brush, and decorate the pottery with organic and mineral paint. A slide
presentation of prehistoric pottery will enrich the instructions.  9-5pm Friday

The Roving Naturalist

Zion Canyon Art and Flute Festival
Vacation With Music!   Beautiful Zion National Park in Southern Utah
provides the backdrop for the fourth annual Zion Canyon Art and Flute
Festival, held June 7-15, 2008. The festival fills the town of Springdale near
the park’s south entrance with skilled native flutists carrying traditional
handmade instruments and everyone else who appreciates the enchanting
rhythms of the native flute. Organizers of the festival plan, a flute school,
workshops, open-mic and concerts during the event. Those attending may
browse through a variety of art, handmade flutes, crafts and food booths in
the Springdale Town Center Park. Register online for school, workshops

Himalayan Performing Arts Festival
The 7th Annual Himalayan Performing Arts Festival will beheld at the
Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork. Performing artists will take the stage from
6 pm, and present a menu South Asian cuisine, exhibits, Nepali folk dance,
classical Indian dance, drama, music and songs. Admission is $ 2 adult, $1.00
child. Event is held from 6 til 9pm, at the Krihna Temple, 8628 S. State

The Voice of Polynesia Spring Recital
Join us from 6 til 9pm in the Tahitian Noni Gardens for The Voice of
Polynesia's 2008 Spring Recital featuring Pacific Generation, One Voice
and other guest teams. Come see what our students have learned in the last
couple of months for Tahitian dancing, Hawaiian dancing, Tahitian drumming
and Tahitian ukulele. Also get a taste of our promotional dance team, our
American Idol traveling team and see for yourself what a school can do to

Zion Narrows Service Project
Enjoy service, adventure, and learning! Join Ron Kay,Ranger/Naturalist and
Author of "Ron Kay's Guide to Zion National Park" for a 7 mile interpretive
hike in the Zion Narrows. Experience this dramatic area with Ron who will
discuss the geology, plants and animals of Zion. Much of the walk takes Place
in the Virgin River and participants should be prepared to get wet and to walk
on river rocks using a walking stick. Learn about the power of flash floods to
shape the landscape, see hanging gardens, and be awed by the massive vertical
slabs of Navajo sandstone that form the canyon. The group will hike to the
confluence of Orderville Canyon. During the return trip, participants will
perform a brief clean-up in the Narrows to help keep the area primitive.

Utah Lake Festival
You are invited to attend the Utah Lake Festival scheduled to be held from
10am - 3pm, at the Utah Lake State Park. The festival is free and will offer
those attending a chance to enjoy the lake, learn about its many recreational
opportunities and educate attendees about the lake's ecosystem. Some of
the events tentatively planned are bird watch tours, free boat rides, music,
food, Utah Lake photography display, water ski show, fishing technique
workshop, free fishing, and information booths.

Scofields Tug a Trout Free Fishing Fair
Scofield State Park (Huntington, Utah)  The Scofield staff would like to
get the youth involved in fishing once again. We will be showing different
techniques of fishing. We will be providing some equipment for those who

The Orchard: A Rich and Unusual History. Come tour the historic Huber
Grove from 10-11am.  Visit this beautiful, peaceful area and learn about the
rich and unusual history of the one-hundred year old apple orchard which is

Days of The Old West Rodeo
Rodeo fans can enjoy a colorful PRCA event and cheer their favorite
cowboys at the Days of the Old West Rodeo. Top contestants compete in
steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, PWBR Barrel Racing, tie-
down roping, and everyone's favorite -bull riding.  This is a Dodge Series
Rodeo event, with stock contractor Bar T Rodeo Inc.  The announcer is
Chad Nicholson. The specialty act for 2008 is The Wild Child, one of the
most spectacular acts in professional rodeo, combining his abilities as a bull
fighter and professional motocross racer into an amazing act of comedy and
wild stunts.  Rodeo performances are at 8pm each evening at the Millard
County Fairgrounds, 187 South Manzanita in Delta. Ticket Prices are: $12
for Adults and $6 for Children. Children under 3 are free. Tickets can be
purchased in advance at Sahara Motors, 597 North Highway 6 in Delta or

Summerfest Arts Faire
More than 150 artists from across the United States will celebrate the
Summerfest Arts Faire's 25th anniversary at Tabernacle Square in historic
downtown Logan, Utah, June 12-14. The festival includes live music, great
food, children's art yard and plenty of art including oil and watercolor painting,
fiber art, acrylics, sculpture, pottery, photography, jewelry and more. Free

Utah Scottish Festival and Highland Games
Come experience the celtic life at the Utah Scottish Festival and Highland
Games. Watch the competitions at the Highland Games where men and
women perform feats of strength and agility, the same contests that were

Sundance Children's Festival
The Sundance Children's Festival offers a celebration of nature, art, food
and entertainment. Set beneath the majestic Mt. Timpanogas, this year's
Children's Festival offers activities that are both fun and educational.
General admission to the festival is free, but there is a charge for some of the
activities and refreshments.   The events will feature a combination of children
activities including face painting and crafts provided by the Sundance Nature
Center. Children will have the opportunity to experience a real fire engine,
talk to a firefighter and enjoy pony rides, among other activities. Vendors will
include children's items and food such as snow cones and cotton candy. A
barbecue on Ray's Lawn will consist of hamburgers, hot dogs, beverages and
baked goods. There will also be live entertainment.   Led by Tracy
Christensen, the Sundance dog teams are a critical component of the
Sundance Ski Patrol Snow Safety Program. These avalanche dogs will be
strutting their stuff on June 14. This Avalanche Dog Program is a non-profit
organization that partners with the Resort to provide safety to its guests.

for a 4 mile interpretive hike to the North Gate Peaks. This is a moderate
hike on Kolob Terrace. In addition to stunning views you'll see wildflowers
and which edible plants to snack on while hiking. You'll also get a fair bit of
geology and Zion ecology as well. Bring lunch and plenty of water. Limited to

Caves and Culture in the Southwest
Scott Nicolay presents his research focuses on the ritual use of caves and
other earth openings in the Southwest. Previous studies describe numerous
caves in the Southwest as shrines or ceremonial sites. Based upon this
earlier body of academic literature and his own recent cave observations,
Scott has been tracing evidence of the ceremonial use of caves by humans
across the Four Corners and beyond, including Mesoamerican links. In his
illustrated presentation, Scott will discuss cultural cave connections past and

Widowmaker Hill Climb
The most  famous motorcycle hill climb in the world is proud to announce the
2008 climb in Croydon, Utah.   Pro racers from the US and abroad will be in
the Lush Croydon valley. Attempting the 1000 foot vertical
WIDOWMAKER racing starts Friday and runs until Saturday 21st,Utah
best foods will be at the event and cool mountain air makes for a unique family
outing only 30 miles east of the Davis county valley, Exit 111 just past the

4th Annual Antique Power Show
Steam powered tractors, antique machinery and vintage motorcycles and
automobiles. Live displays include a blacksmith shop and sawmill. Tractor
pulls Saturday afternoon. Horse drawn stagecoach rides. The foundation
provides educational exhibits the will amaze the younger generation and are
guaranteed to bring back a few memories for the older generation. Exhibits
include an early era filling station, cafe, antique salvage yard, log cabins from
the 1800's, an old time print shop and shoe repair shop.   Admission is $10.00

Zion Narrows Service Project
Enjoy service, adventure, and learning! Join Ron Kay,Ranger/Naturalist and
Author of "Ron Kay's Guide to Zion National Park" for a 7 mile interpretive
hike in the Zion Narrows. Experience this dramatic area with Ron who will
discuss the geology, plants and animals of Zion. Much of the walk takes Place
in the Virgin River and participants should be prepared to get wet and to walk
on river rocks using a walking stick. Learn about the power of flash floods to
shape the landscape, see hanging gardens, and be awed by the massive vertical
slabs of Navajo sandstone that form the canyon. The group will hike to the
confluence of Orderville Canyon. During the return trip, participants will
perform a brief clean-up in the Narrows to help keep the area primitive.

22nd Annual Best Dam Bike Ride
The Harmons Best Dam Bike Ride is the largest two-day organized cycling
event in the state. Bike MS raises funds for MS research and local
programs which help Utahns affected by multiple sclerosis. This two day  
event features great food, live music, themed rest stops, and more!
Participants collect contributions from friends, family, and co-workers to
sponsor their ride. This year three thousand Utahns will participate in the
event, hoping to raise $1.7 million. Early start - 7 a.m. begins at Cache Valley
Fairgrounds in Logan, UT Admission: Early bird - $25, Regular - $35, Late
Registration - $45, Walk-on Registration - $50. Raise a minimum of $250 to
